"From Tender Ballads to Swinging Grooves...This Is A Singer in Command of His Craft."

We Know Jack

When a band is having this much fun, it’s impossible for an audience to not do the same.  “We know Jack” combines a great repertoire of songs with an easy, casual stage presence that is irresistible!  Made up of experienced musicians who all perform with other musical ensembles in a variety of styles, this band is, for them, a labor of love. And it shows!

Cherie Lynn is the only member of the band who can play four instruments and milk a cow. Born and raised in the farmlands of Michigan, she picked up singing & guitar early, but the audiences were mostly on four legs.  Playing bass and keyboards in the pop variety/band “The Proper Stranger” got her started professionally.  A long running gig as a member of the house band at the renowned “Tootsie Van Kelly’s” afforded her the opportunity to meet and perform with many famous musicians, for listeners who expressed their appreciation with claps, not moos. Along the way she became an accomplished drummer.  She currently performs regularly with many area musicians on club and private gigs, as part of a duo on the Grand Lady Riverboat, with pianist/ husband Tom Hagen and Rick Reuther in the Tom Hagen Trio and now as part of “We Know Jack”.  Cherie has 3 CDs in release.

Rick Reuther started his musical career with accordion lessons at age 7.  His penchant for frequent, fervent practice sessions eventually made it necessary for his family to flee the neighborhood.  With the arrival of the Beatles, Rick decided that singing and guitar playing would be a great way to meet girls.  Still single, he has been forced to rethink this. Rick is the owner of Music Host Entertainment (formerly Music Host Productions) and works with many area musicians on club and private gigs.  He has worked extensively as a solo acoustic act, as a featured vocalist for the “Tom Hagen Trio”, with vocalist Mary Rademacher in their show “Steppin’ Out” and now as part of “We Know Jack.”  He has 5 CDs in release.

Nelson Wood rocked his way through Jr. and Sr. High School on lead guitar.  During college he’s pretty sure he grew his hair long and played folk and blues, though, by his own account, details are hazy.  The 70’s found him playing bluegrass and then down that slippery slope to country music with the “Gary Shaw and Country Pleasure” band.  Eventually mastering pedal steel guitar (the “accordion” of country music, according to Rick), he performed in the “Paul Webb and the Webb Hollow Band”.  Other bands followed, along with working as a studio musician. He currently performs as part of the “Village Jazz Trio”, “14 Font” and now as part of “We Know Jack”.  A talented wood worker (no pun intended), Nelson is proud to point out that he still possesses all ten of his fingers.
